Trailer Driver Training

We offer driver training courses for towing trailers behind an HGV, LGV, bus or coach to satisfy the requirements for the Category E trailer test (previously known as HGV Class 1).

Articulated LGV, Driver Training

An Articulated LGV or a vehicle over 7500kg with trailer requires a category C+E (Class 1) trailer licence.

A medium sized good vehicle (3500kg to 7500kg) with trailer requires a category C1+E trailer licence.

The trailer can for example be a large articulated trailer, a drawbar trailer, a cargo trailer towed behind a coach.

The rules are complex about Driving Licence Categories, vehicle specifications and the age at which you can drive which affect vehicles with trailers.
